South Australia has been left shocked after a man was shot in the south-east of the state.
Key points:The vehicle went off the road in a remote area and hit a man’s vehicle in the suburb of Watsons Creek in South West, near the towns of Bayswater and WollongongThe victim, who has not been identified, was transported to the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAS) in a critical condition.
Police said they are investigating the shooting.
The vehicle was travelling along a rural road in Watsson Creek when it went off and hit the man’s Ford Focus vehicle.
“We’re just hoping the man who was driving that vehicle was OK,” Police Sergeant Tim Womack said.
“Our sympathies go out to the family of the victim.”
The man is in a stable condition in the hospital and the vehicle was not damaged.
“The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated by police,” the RAS said in a statement.
“Police are currently speaking to the driver of the vehicle and the driver’s partner.”
